Child Care Services Nutrition Tech

South Plains Community Action Association (SPCAA) is seeking a detail-oriented Nutrition Technician to support the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). This position plays a key role in ensuring accurate reimbursement, supporting child care providers, and maintaining compliance with USDA and Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) guidelines.

What You’ll Do

  • Review and validate CACFP meal counts and billing for accuracy and compliance
  • Prepare and submit reimbursement claims
  • Maintain organized records to support audits and program requirements
  • Provide technical assistance to child care providers on CACFP rules and processes
  • Assist with monitoring activities, trainings, and provider support
  • Identify discrepancies and report concerns to ensure program integrity

What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience with billing, data entry, or compliance review preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to learn and apply federal/state regulations (CACFP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass background and drug screening
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the region
