Workforce CHOICES/SNAP E&T Career Counselor

JOB SUMMARY

Primary duty will be to perform outreach activities in search of potential TANF CHOICES customers. Will participate in job fairs, attend organization meetings, and make home visits, providing information to potential customers.  Will works with TANF, Non-Custodial Parent and SNAP E&T customers to provide direction in developing the best and quickest route to self-sufficiency. The case manager will document case management activities and services provided to customers in WIT, TWIST and Laserfiche.  Conducts case management activities and provides supportive services to eligible customers on a as need basis.

Basic computer literacy, including the ability to use the Internet and Microsoft Office products. Keyboarding skills are mandatory. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation. Strong oral and written communication skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor’s degree in social work or related field preferred.  An equivalent combination of experience and education may be substituted for a degree.  Training experience in social work, counseling, career planning, placement, or related field desired.
