South Plains Community Action Association observed Hunger Action Day across the South Plains region on September 29, 2026. SPCAA staff wore the color orange at their offices in recognition of the battle against hunger. The issue of food insecurity and hunger is one that is close to the heart of staff at SPCAA. The food box expansion project launched by SPCAA now has three different locations across the region. The Hockley County Food Box, the Terry County Food Box, and the Cochran County Food box have all been major successes. SPCAA staff hopes to expand their battle against hunger across more counties in the South Plains region in the coming years.
