(LEVELLAND, TEXAS) – The South Plains Community Action Association (SPCAA) joined in on several back to school events throughout the community. Events in Terry County, Lubbock County, and Hale County took place in early August, and SPCAA proudly contributed to their causes.
In Brownfield, SPCAA workers banded together to host the 6th Annual Terry County Back to School Bash, in total they were able to give away 1000 backpacks to children in need! In Lubbock, the City-Wide Back to School Bash was the largest in the area, giving away 5000 backpacks. SPCAA Head Start and Navigator programs donated supplies to help stuff the backpacks for students. In Plainview, several agency programs were able to participate in the Central Plains Center Back to School Resource Fair.
SPCAA is dedicated to providing for children in need throughout the community. Back to school season can be an exciting yet stressful time particularly for those families struggling financially. Assisting with items such as backpacks and notebooks may seem arbitrary to some, but these items can have a profound impact on a parent struggling to provide for their child. SPCAA continues to embody the mission of Helping People. Changing Lives,
